Len Schell

Len started at the Winery in 1946

 

Len's Recollections

He had spent 1944 to 1946 in the Navy on HMAS "Westralia" (Troop landing ship)which saw action in the Borneo and Philipine areas.
Len spent 1946 to 1950 at BCWD.

Duties included Cellar Hand, Weighbridge Clerk, Wine Register Records and Bond office.

Joined Excise Department in late 1950 and retired in either 1987 or 1988

Excise officer Hans Fronten lived in Crawford Terrace, Berri 1949-50

Eric Butcher was offsider to les kassebaum.

Alec warrick was employed in the cellar and bottling section.

Lochee McKinnon was a roustabout.
